Traditions

Traditions abound at Covenant. And new traditions are created each year. We revel in the time-honored traditions of old, and relish the new.

The College's Scottish heritage emerges in the bagpipes you will hear at convocation as you first begin your academic career at Covenant, at the commencement ceremony as you celebrate the completion of your college years, and at dozens of soccer games and other events in between.

A number of all-school events are held each year, including:

• Kilter: a Sadie-Hawkins style costume party often held in downtown Chattanooga
• Mountain Affair: a talent show featuring some of the best student musicians and performers
• Bakertree Festival: an all-day outdoor market with student vendors and vendors from the Chattanooga area, followed by a concert
• Exam Cram Breakfast: a late-night study break just before exams, when your professors and administrators will serve you some delicious breakfast food

Each residence hall has its own traditions as well — some new, some old — such as Carter Christmas, Around Founders, Mac Movie Night, and the Andreas Open.
