Pre-Nursing Studies
Pre-Nursing Studies
Nursing is a demanding multifaceted profession that requires a wide variety of personal characteristics and technical skills. In addition to knowledge of physiology, disease processes, and medical treatments, nurses must be compassionate and perceptive. They need discernment in understanding complex human physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. Many of the skills required in nursing cannot simply be taught but must be shaped. At Covenant, we believe that nursing is more than a profession, it is a calling.

Program Overview
The pre-nursing program at Covenant uniquely prepares students to minister to patients through professional expertise, authentic compassion, and spiritual strength.
- Our academically rigorous curriculum prepares students for the courses that they will encounter in nursing school and includes solid foundations in biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, and microbiology.
- In addition, we offer practical coursework that prepares students for interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals who are often dealing with stress, grief, pain, and frustration.
- Most importantly, Covenant's core curriculum helps students to articulate and defend a Christian worldview so that in difficult circumstances in their own lives as well as in the lives of their patients, families, and coworkers, they can hold true to the promises of Christ and be witnesses to others regarding these promises.
